What is a fanzine?
A fanzine is a fan-produced magazine/book that highlights works like art or writing from various artists. Usually fanzines are centered around a theme and/or a specific TV show, game, book, etc. In this case, our fanzine features colorable art and fics of Deltarune, as well as additional merch.

​​Is this zine for-profit?
Yes, this zine will be low-cost but will take profits. It will be available for a limited time only, in accordance with Toby Fox's fan merch rules.

Will you be selling merchandise?
Yes! The zine will include both physical and digital merchandise. We are seeking 3-6 merch artists to produce these items as bonus/bundle options. (See our Applications page for more info.)

Can artists/writers sell their work after the project is over?
The artist/writer may sell their work anytime in-person (e.g., at a convention), but must agree not to sell or post their pieces online until one month after leftover sales end. After that date, all contributors retain the rights to the art and writing they submit and can use their own art however they wish.

How do contributors communicate during the Creation Period?
Contributors will join the Color Cafe Discord server for the feedback process, announcements, check-ins, etc.

​How much will the contributors be paid?
All contributors will receive a digital and physical copy of the zine, including any merch that gets funded. However, if the project does not break even, we may ask for contributors to pay for their shipping fees. After fees and taxes have been deducted, the profits will be divided equally among all contributors and moderators.

Through which payment processor will contributors be paid?
Contributors will be paid via Paypal.

Are AUs allowed for this zine?
No, we are looking for canon and canon interpretation pieces only.
​
Are ships allowed for this zine?
Canon ships are allowed, but this zine is mostly focusing on gen (i.e., non-romantic) content. However, if it could happen in canon, it is appropriate for the zine.

Will there be NSFW material in this zine?
No, this zine will only have content up to a Teen (T) rating, which is content that may be inappropriate for audiences under 13. This allows for some depictions of violence and relationships, but nothing graphic. It will allow for minimal swearing.

Is traditional art allowed?
Yes, as long as you can digitize it (i.e., make it transparent). Please make sure to provide a clean, high quality scan of your work (at least 350dpi). If you intend to do a traditional piece for this zine, you must demonstrate your ability to follow the above instructions in your portfolio.

Are two-page spread pieces allowed?
No. We are only accepting one page pieces and spot illustrations. However, if you're considering a spread piece, you may want to consider applying as a merch artist and doing a desktop wallpaper/background!

​Will we be allowed to create content that is set during Undertale?
No, we want to make this a Deltarune-focused fanzine. You may include the characters from the Light World / the overworld / Hometown, but you should aim to distinguish these characters and setting from those of Undertale's. We want our fanzine to reflect the unique atmosphere and story of Deltarune.

Can we make more than one piece as a Page Artist/Merch Artist/Writer or more than two pieces as a Spot Illustrator?
No. Unfortunately, we only have space for one piece per Page Artist/Merch Artist/Writer and two pieces per Spot Illustrator.

Are you inviting guest artists/writers?
Yes, though we are currently still working out the numbers and who we would invite. If you have suggestions around the time of our interest check, let us know!

Are you selling internationally?
Currently, our plan is to sell internationally. We intend to set up a shop on BOOTH to sell to Japanese customers so that they may access their favorite payment options.
​
What resources did you use for your promotional materials and project?

The rest of our resources do not require credit to use.
